01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the heart of A Guarda, Cafetería Almorzos do Camiño is a charming espresso bar, bakery, bar, breakfast restaurant, and pastry shop that feels like a genuine local treasure. This lovely spot at Rúa Baiona, 7, invites you to experience the comforting embrace of traditional Spanish morning flavors with a modern, stylish twist.

What truly sets Cafetería Almorzos do Camiño apart is its radiant atmosphere—bathed in natural light and designed with a tasteful, cozy decor that instantly makes you feel at home. Whether you're stopping by for an early espresso, a leisurely breakfast, or a delightful midday snack, the ambiance strikes a perfect balance between lively and serene, ideal for both catching up with friends or savoring a peaceful moment alone.

The heart and soul of this place are its fresh, lovingly prepared offerings. The croissants here are consistently praised for being deliciously authentic, with flaky layers that melt in your mouth—Nathalie Kovalenko’s words, “Croissants very good, delicious and authentic,” perfectly capture the essence. The bakery also boasts a diverse array of products including artisanal breads, mouthwatering empanadas, tostas, and a newly introduced selection of irresistibly rich cakes that invite you to indulge guilt-free. Victor Alonso Martinez highlights this evolving menu, recommending everyone to come and taste the tempting variety for themselves.

The attention to detail shines through not just in the food but also in the warm hospitality. Customers like Juan A R and Jose Maria Gandara Gonzalez praise the friendly, attentive service that feels almost familial—mother and daughter working harmoniously to create a welcoming environment where you’re more than just a customer. It’s this genuine connection that turns a simple visit into a memorable experience.

Whether you’re a local or a traveler discovering A Guarda by chance, Cafetería Almorzos do Camiño makes a compelling case to become your go-to spot for savoring authentic Spanish breakfast and pastries. If quality, warmth, and an inviting atmosphere matter to you, this bright and stylish café is a delightful find. Mick Gortenmulder sums it up best: “This is a great local place for coffee and some croissants or sandwiches! Highly recommend.”

Hi we stopped by here for a quick snack yesterday. The toast sandwiches and empanadas were gorgeous with generous fillings. We ended up staying for a few glasses of wine and coffee. Cafe is spotlessly clean and the waitress was absolutely lovely. We will be back thankyou for a lovely afternoon.
